Regenerative Medicine at Our Hospital

According to the Japan Society for Regenerative Medicine, regenerative medicine is "to regenerate the functions of living tissues and organs that have become inactive or dysfunctional by actively using cells." In another words, it can be said that it is a new treatment using "cells". Among them, the one with the highest therapeutic effect is the treatment using stem cells.
There are various methods of cell collection, culture, and administration. Since it is a state-of-the-art treatment, it is currently carried out under the strict legal regulations. For regenerative medicine using stem cells, the validity, safety, medical system, and cell processing management system of the treatment are rigorously examined by the Specified Certified Regenerative Medicine Committee approved by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. If proven appropriate, it will be possible to submit a treatment plan to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare for treatment. In 2016, we obtained the Type 2 Regenerative Medicine Provision Plan Number in March 2020, and received approval to provide regenerative medicine.

The treatments we offer at our hospital are adipose-derived regenerative (stem) cell therapy, stem cell supernatant therapy, autologous blood cytokine therapy, and platelet-rich plasma therapy. The purpose of treatment is different. If you are interested, please consult with us first.

ADRCS (Treatment with Adipose-derived Stem Cells)

What is ADRCS?

It is a treatment using adipose-derived stem cells. Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) have become one of the most utilized adult stem cells due to their abundance and accessibility by removing the adipocytes from the subcutaneous adipose tissue (Liposuction) .
Recent studies have shown that paracrine cytokines, exosomes, and other active substances are the main factors through which ADSCs exert their biological effects.
They are thought to have the potential to exert angiogenesis, immune repair, anti-cell death, and antioxidant effects.

Since adipose tissue is abundant in the body, it is possible to collect the required amount. Moreover, there are many good, renewable stem cells in adipose tissue. It is said that bones, cartilage, adipose tissue, muscles, nerves and other tissues can be regenerated. In addition, stem cells are said to have the effect of suppressing inflammation. The combination of these effects can be expected to reduce inflammation and pain, enhance self-repairing ability, and regenerate lost tissue.

This treatment is a one-day surgery with local anesthesia. Fat is collected from the abdomen, and a cell fluid containing a large amount of stem cells is taken out by a cell separation device called Celution. Then, it is administered intravenously by intravenous drip.
It is very effective for those who have intractable problems that cannot be relieved due to chronic pain.

  • The more fat you collect, the more cells you can have. How much fat you want to get is decided by consulting in detail at the medical examination.
  • The processing time depends on the amount of adipose tissue to be processed.
  • Preparation for the day of surgery: Please come to the hospital on the day of surgery with clothes that are easy to put on and take off. Also, please refrain from wearing clothes that tighten your abdomen.
  • Anesthesia is local anesthesia. Since the operation time will be longer, you can have the operation under sedation if you wish. Please consult with us at the pre-surgery examination.

Our body consists of approximately 60 trillion cells, those cells are produced by stem cells. These stem cells are found throughout the body and create various organs, blood, and skin. The culture media containing abundant cytokines and growth factors released when stem cells grow is called stem cell medium supernatant. It helps to restore the damaged cells affected by aging, suppresses the inflammation, promotes beauty, and promotes hair growth as well. Stem cell supernatant media treatment Stem cell supernatant media do not contain any cells, so there is no risk of infection or allergic reaction. The method of injection is done by IV infusion for 30 minutes while relaxing on the sofa. The treatment interval varies depending on the purpose of treatment, but it is recommended to perform the treatment regularly every 1-2 weeks for optimal outcomes. A blood test is necessary because the general condition is checked before treatment begins.

Blood components, including platelets, are known to easily adhere to artificial surfaces such as glass and polymers causing a release reaction. ACRS effect depends on this action.
Blood is collected in special tube kit made in Germany and stored at 37 degrees for 3 hours. Then, platelets collide with beads and release IL-1Ra (an anti-inflammatory substance), and growth factors. IL-1Rα is involved in pain pathway leading to suppression of pain.
It also supports the regeneration of damaged tissue.
During the 3-hour of incubation, IL-1Ra is cultured to its maximum value, reaching about 5 times the normal concentration. Then, centrifuged to extract the active ingredient only excluding blood cells. The treatment interval can be done every day, but it is recommended to do it every 1-2 weeks.
Since it takes 3 hours to incubate, the reservation is required beforehand. You can move freely while incubation is done and you can also store the dose in frozen form to be injected at a later date.
Blood test is necessary to confirm the general condition before starting the treatment.

PRP (platelet rich plasma) therapy

PRP therapy is a treatment often used in Europe and the United States as a treatment that supports "the ability to cure yourself (self-healing power)".
In this treatment, growth factors and cytokines that are released from platelets in your blood are extracted and used for anti-aging treatment. Cytokines contain various substances that are effective for anti-aging. Because it has effects such as cell growth, angiogenesis, and collagen production, treatment at the cellular level is effective by injecting locally into the areas of concern such as wrinkles and sagging.
Specifically, it is injected into the area of concern the face. You can feel the effect of smoothing the skin due to the regeneration of the subcutaneous tissue after a while.
Because it extracts a component called PRP from your blood, you don't have to worry about allergic reactions or infections.
